FNLC is active with our work on Projects, Advocacy and Public Engagement.
Our FNLC Events are an integral part of all three of these efforts, as we bring to the public our information about what we are doing. Below is a list of our eight annual events. If you are interested in sponsoring or attending any of these events, please contact Denise Smith directly denisefnlc@gmail.com.
Winter Farmer’s Meeting – Each year in January or February we host a meeting in conjunction with UVM-Extension to discuss the results of our past ag practices work, the science behind the practices, and plans for the coming spring and summer. The primary audience is farmers, but all are welcome. In 2012 the meeting was held at Champlain Valley Equipment in St. Albans, and they presented information about tillage equipment and GPS guidance.
Tyler Place Dinner – Each year in the last week of May the Tyler Place hosts a dinner for the members of Friends of Northern Lake Champlain, along with state and federal agency officials and other guests. FNLC provides information about the on-going implementation work in northern Lake Champlain, and scientists and agency leaders provide information about the status of Lake Champlain waters and programs.
Bike for the Lake, Champlain Century - Saturday, June 22, 2013: The third annual Bike for the Lake will begin at Sandbar State Park at 8:00 am. Information about the Ride on this page of our website. This will again be a century ride (100 miles) with shorter loops of 25, 50 and 75 miles.

Run for the Lake – Sept. 8, 2013: The third annual Run for the Lake will was held on Sept. 9, 2012, with over 130 participants. Our sponsors and members provide the go-power that enables us to do all of our work.
